Most of the time, I don’t write my dreams down because I’m texting my partner about how weird they are. Many people believe that dreams can lead to many things. I try to spread my learnings on social media.

I like to collect love notes and put them in my journal. Tracking your mental health can help you find what works for you.

I had come to hate my job and was ready for a new challenge. My writing of reflections, to-do lists, and more help me move along the right path, even though my actions are the true drivers of success. The idea is that you want to write down any circumstance that interests you and gives you the feeling of victory.

Break down future goals and next steps into actionable to-do lists as clients and others change their minds. I find my journal the perfect place for long-term to-do lists and write down short-term actions steps when I forget my daily planner at home.

What are good things to write in a journal?

  • Write down your goals.
  • You can keep a daily log.
  • You should journal three things you are grateful for.
  • Write down your problems.
  • Write down your stresses.
  • Write down your answer to the question, “What’s the best thing that happened today?” every night before bed.

You can use them all, combine the ones you like, or pick the one that most relates to where you are at right now.

When done regularly, journaling almost always leads to fresh, new insights and ideas that can transform your life. To get through tough times, to achieve my goals, or to foster my creative efforts.

I have been doing this for over five years, and it is a crucial part of my morning routine. I will not miss a day for the rest of my life. There are two reasons I decided to make this idea a life-long habit, the first being that great ideas hit you out of the blue, and the second being that your mind urges you to take action on them until your goals become a reality. Before you start your day, open up a fresh page in your journal and write down your top 10–15 goals.

When I tell you that it comes in handy, I mean that you have a hand-written record of what you did on any given day. It is up to you if you want to draw pictures, record them as detailed notes, or just jot stuff down. People achieve their goals when they do work that helps improve their lives.

I recommend starting your workday with a gratitude journal in the morning. The domino effect of optimism with which you can approach your work, your clients, your family, and everyone else you cross paths with is caused by genuine gratitude. It is not possible to feel stressed and grateful at the same time. If you already keep a journal, planner, or todo list, you can use the open space on one of those pages to write out 3 things you are grateful for.

These are some of the challenges I have journaled about in the past. My commute increases by an hour because I will be making more money.

Start a Pros and Cons list to figure out what to do with the problem. If I am confused about how to approach a personal issue, or angry about something, I just take out my journal and write about it.

In the beginning of these journalling sessions, I feel like a small child, just writing a bunch of gibberish. The stress may not go away entirely, but it is a much better option than taking Prozac and trying to cover it all up. We have to start with the roots if we want to taste the fruits.

When you feel stressed, open your journal at the end of the night, and write down the best thing that happened to you. The question, “What’s the best thing that happened today?”, is so powerful that you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to know that it is better. Here are a few examples of how I have used this idea to work in my own life.

Is it worth keeping a journal?
