I’ve learned a lot in my current role, but I’m looking for the next step where I can continue to grow and use the skills I’ve learned to contribute to a company I love. There is a new year in 2021.
How do you answer what you’re looking for in a position?

It will show that you are interested in progressing and benefiting the company if you talk about how you would like to find a new role that will allow you to use your existing skills. You should explain your reasons for leaving in a positive way, if you talk badly of a current employer. Having an idea of the general direction you would like to take your career, or areas you would like to progress within, is not necessarily a requirement to have a full five-year plan in place. You can learn about what the company has been doing and what their values are through the website, news updates and social media.
What to say when someone asks why you’re applying for a job?

You need something to show that you have thought about what you want to do in your next job, because there are so many things you can talk about here. If the job is good, you will be more likely to work hard, put effort into learning, and stay a while.
