Imagine being lost and having someone give you directions that include every possible route and landmark to your destination when all you want to know is where you are.

Infographics, videos and diagrams can be used to make explanations work. Every new project is encouraged to use a video to explain their idea on the popular platform. The most effective stories show a person in pain who finds a solution and feels relieved. The audience can empathise with the simple stories because they allow them to imagine themselves solving similar problems.

By answering the “why” early in a meeting or presentation, you create a foundation for understanding on which to build more complex ideas. Understanding why yeast and baking powder are used will allow you to see the process from a different perspective and make your own dish.
