Should authors rate their own books on Goodreads?

Authors can rate one edition from each of their books from their Goodreads Author account. The note next to the rating says “Review from the author”. Whether you choose to rate your own books or not is up to you.

Should authors read Goodreads reviews?

Readers are the focus of Goodreads reviews, not the authors of the books they are written about. No matter how many five-star reviews you read, the one-star review that sticks in your mind and affects your self-esteem will be the one-star review that sticks in your mind.

Can you rate books on Goodreads?

You can find the book by searching for it in the search bar. Underneath the book’s cover image, hover over the stars until the desired number of stars is highlighted, and then click on them to rate the book. The pop-up menu will be above the stars.

  • The book was a complete waste of time.
  • 2 stars, fine but not happy with it: It was more annoying than rewarding.
  • This was an average but enjoyable read.

How do I compare books on Goodreads?

Just go to your friend’s Goodreads profile page and click on the ‘Compare Books’ link under the box at the top of the page where people share details about themselves.

How do I leave a book review?

  • The first thing to do is to read the book.
  • You can write your review in your notes app on your phone or computer.
  • Take the next step and Proofread your review.
  • You must choose where you want to leave your book review.
  • If you want toCOPY your review, you must select all.

Reviews give books merit, credence, and show value to potential customers which allows them to make an informed decision that they can feel proud of before making their purchase.

You can write your review on your computer or on your phone. Simply choose a site from below and type in the book title in the search bar, then find the review submission box. It’s a good idea to leave a review at the sites that you’re most likely to shop at or look up books at.
