How do you properly write notes?

  • Repetition is defined as the repetition of something.
  • If you’re short on time, draw an image from a picture.
  • Do not colour code during initial note-taking.
  • Short, succinct sentences are what you can write.
  • Use abbreviations and symbols.

The way you take notes can help with your studies.

It is possible to get better results, feel confident about your studies and be streets ahead of your peers once you are at university. Most of us don’t have a memory that remembers everything, so we don’t remember what a teacher meant in a video or what those measly dot points mean. There are two columns on the page with five steps.

The page is usually written down with headings and bullet points. Make sure to look at your notes immediately after, no matter what method you use. Draw an image if you are short on time.

It is a good idea to start with your teacher’s notes or textbook as a starting point. It is better to be engaged and have an efficient system of recording the main points. Before class, read the provided material, sit where you won’t be distracted, and be prepared with your preferred note-taking structure.

You should keep an eye on your teacher’s body language, listen carefully if they revisit a point several times, and if they write something on the board or on their slides. Is there a difference between using a pen and paper and typing on a laptop? Students have a deeper understanding of the material because of the mental processes involved in writing by hand, according to researchers.
