How do you format a landing page?

  • You should maintain your brand.

A landing page directs visitors to take a specific action, such as making a purchase, completing a registration or subscribe to your email list. Visitors look at a landing page for just seconds before making a decision. They will abandon a page if you can’t find what they’re looking for or if your site has problems.

Your landing page needs to entice visitors to stay and complete the desired action for conversion, whether it is filling out a subscription form or buying a product. The headline of your landing page should include the phrase “Breakthrough meditation system.” The visitor has to be able to read quickly, so don’t put too much text on the page.

The language in the ad should be in the landing page. It is impossible for the visitor to ignore your message.

Put a large sign-up form on the right side of the landing page and use a high-contrast color to make it stand out. Draw a landing page on paper before you talk to your designer. Don’t forget to make sure the designer works with the actual copy.

The landing page needs to talk to a specific audience. There is no way to know in advance what will work, so make a few hypotheses and test them. You have a hypothesis about which offer will appeal to your target audience, your MWA is in place, and you understand your target audience. A quick explanation of your offer above the fold, a link to your privacy policy, and a pop-up window to keep people on the page are all included.

There are always exceptions and you can’t copy best practices directly to your site, but this advice should be your starting point. You should put your page layout together and copy it to your website after you have created it.

If your landing page is about job offers to work on an oil rig, your URL should be something like A searcher who types oil rig job offers is more likely to click on the ad. If the offer is free, short copy works better. When the offer is free, cheap or intimidating, short copy performs better than long copy on a landing page.

It works well for impulse buys that deliver emotional satisfaction. Longer copy helps you make a more compelling case by adding explanations, proof, testimonials and other information. A lot of people associate long-form copy with hype and get-rich-quick landing pages. Some long-form landing pages for free offers convert well but the linked example is a rather complex product, which may be why longer copy works better there.

It is important that people are encouraged to scroll down when using long copy. Clicktale and CrazyEgg can be used to see a scrollmap of how far down the page people are scrolling. The effectiveness of the landing page will be tested once everything is up and running. I just typed in a bunch of words and clicked on some ads to find a different landing page.

During my limited search, I was unable to find a perfect landing page. Remove jargon-y language such as the Publishing Kit. There is a second offer below the fold.

Visitors that complete sign-up forms will not consume your offer.

These are some things that can turn a visitor into a customer for your business. I have made a decision against doing this for my clients, and would recommend you do the same. I am referring to things like counting five minutes or more on a website as someone converting or the fact that someone has seen a certain page.

There are arguments for these, but they are not enough to prove that a visitor has real business value. Before you spend any money or time on your marketing, make sure you know what your conversions are. A good landing page has a number of features that help convert people into customers.

A strong call-to-action will be attached to the link that leads the customer to convert. A common design feature of good landing pages is that they don’t have a full footer.

They avoid elements that could lead people away, like links and phone numbers. You should only ever have one goal on your landing page. As a well-recognized name in the travel industry, this is well accepted as genuine and honest feedback from real people. It could be that they are missing out on something and will pay a higher price in the future.

The ticker down style timer was used to encourage people to sign up immediately rather than waiting. When someone clicks through from a post on social media to your landing page, they have already embarked on a journey. Users are required to scroll to consume all of the content because of the amount of information you want to get onto a landing page.

One of the pieces of information is likely to be social proof, marketing video, bullet point benefits, etc. I am not suggesting that every landing page you produce should have every one of these benefits checked off, but if you aim for the majority of them, you will be onto a good start.
