There are model answers and examiner comments to help you analyse your work if you have any of the IELTS authentic practice tests.

If you have a friend who can practice with you at home or online, why not take turns being the examiner and the candidate. Even if you don’t want to take a computer-delivered test, there are some helpful practice materials available on the internet. If you have already completed a reading comprehension task, the text will be full of vocabulary which you can learn. Write comments, answer and ask questions, do tasks, get feedback, or just feel part of a wider community of learners.

Preparing for your test can be daunting and leave you feeling overwhelmed, which is why we have put together a series of steps to get you started. Taking a practice test will help you identify your weaknesses.

It is necessary to improve on your weaknesses and build up your strengths in order to create a solid foundation for the exam. Review the content of the test, as well as the question and task types, to make sure you are familiar with it. A sound familiarity with the test pattern and format is the key to success in any examination.

The higher your chances are of completing it successfully, the clearer you understand the test structure. You should find an institution that will help with English development. It’s not unusual to get lost during a conversation, but you need to recover quickly or you will miss all the questions of the task afterwards. Even if you don’t understand how to follow a conversation, you can still answer the next questions.

Make sure you practice with a wide variety of questions so that you become familiar with each type. To prepare for Task 2, you need to know the structure of an essay, how to develop it, and how to write the introduction and conclusion.
