It should be numbered with the lower case Roman numeral II centered at the bottom edge. Place the heading “ABSTRACT” in all capital letters below the top of the page. The center of the double-spaced line is your name, followed by a colon and the title of the thesis. The text of your abstract has to be double-spaced and aligned with the document’s left margin.

If possible, avoid including symbols or foreign words in your abstract as they can’t be searched. Avoid including lengthy explanations or opinions in your work, and be sure to describe the subject and focus of your work with clear details.

A dedication is a message from the author in honor of a person, group or cause. A preface is a statement of the author’s reasons for undertaking the work and other personal comments that are not directly germane to the materials presented in other sections of the thesis.

TheTABLE OF CONTENTS should be included in all capital letters and placed below the top of the page. The left page margin should be consistent with the right page margin. The table of contents needs to match the headings, major subheadings, and numbering used in the body of the thesis.

The table of contents page has to be numbered with Roman numerals that are centered on the bottom edge. The list of tables, figures, and illustrations must be numbered with Roman numerals that are centered on the bottom edge.

Place the heading “LIST OF ABBREVIATIONS” in capital letters below the top of the page. The List of Abbreviations page must be numbered with Roman numerals that are centered on the bottom edge.
