Failing a thesis is not unusual. It is normal for students to have a second chance to submit a revised thesis if your institution’s rules say otherwise. You should try again. The year of 2017:

A third to half of those that enroll at a PhD university won’t graduate. Over the past three decades, the figure of failing PhD students has been stable. There is a new year in 2019.
What happens if you fail a thesis?
You will usually be given a chance to re-submit your work if you fail. The marks for a re-submitted thesis will usually be capped at a bare pass level.
Do people fail master thesis?
It depends on your ability. If you were doing a Masters in time management, you would fail immediately, but if you were good at it, you could pass.
How common is it to fail a PhD?
Four out of five students who register for a PhD programme are successful. The failure rate of one in five students may seem high, but most of these students exit their programme early as opposed to those who fail at the viva stage.
Do PhD students fail classes?
PhD students are smart, hard working and ambitious. They have never missed a class. Many of them have aced most of their classes and had a good grade point average prior to starting a PhD program.
