Is it okay to send a cover letter as an email?

Email cover letters can be either an email attachment or the body of your email. Attachments are preferred by some companies while others prefer the body of the email message. If you don’t follow the employer’s instructions, your application may not be considered.

Should cover letter be sent as an attachment?

Unless an employer specifically asks for you to include your cover letter and resume in the body of your email, send them separately. Attach a real cover letter to the email.

Almost 50% of the cover letters I have read in the last few days fall into that latter category. A cover letter that does not follow a standard structure can look messy. The applicants’ contact information was not included in at least a quarter of the cover letters.

How is a potential employer going to get in touch with you if you don’t give them your phone number or email address? The hiring manger will move on to the next one if there are too many qualified candidates.

Is it bad to apply without a cover letter?

Don’t worry about it if you apply online for a job and there is no way to post a cover letter. You do not need one. If the employer only states what they want in a job application, you don’t have to write a cover letter.

When should I send my cover letter?

The only time you should submit a cover letter is if you have valuable information that isn’t conveyed in your resume. I’ve hired many candidates because of something they wrote in their cover letter. Here are a few examples.
